The Las Positas men's soccer team kept cruised past host Woodland 4-2 to improve to 3-0 in nonconference play.
Hawks head coach Andy Cumbo was impressed with his team's play in a difficult environment.
"Yes. Tough conditions – super hot and an extremely small field," Cumbo said. "The team had to solve some problems during the game. I was happy with our resilience and our depth, it was important."
He pointed out Angel Rondon and Jayden Nguyen as key players. Saul Tecle scored the Hawks' first two goals, off assists by Nguyen and Mateen Omari. Alex Braginski broke a 2-2 tie with a goal in the 58th minute off a Rondon assist. Lenni Hertwig rounded out the scoring off an Arteen Arianmanesh assist in the 72ndminute.
