Red Hot Start For The Hawks
Looking to escape the heat wave, the women's water polo team took a trip to the bay to take on the Rams of City College of San Francisco. Not even the ocean breeze couldn't cool down the Hawks as they came out red hot, scoring early and often, with 8 different players scoring a goal on the way to a 20-5 win.
Las Positas came out of the gates strong, with 5 goals in the first quarter, and another 5 in the second, while only giving up 1. The Hawks were led by Samantha Fehr who had 5 goals, followed by Amy Heath with 4, while Makenzie Duffin and Amber Fisher both had a pair.
Casey Reil started in goal, made 7 saves while giving up only 3 before giving way to Duffin for the final period.
With the win, the Hawks are now 2-8 however, both wins have come in conference play. They currently sit tied for second place in the Coast Conference with College of Marin. The next match for the Hawks will take place this Friday as they welcome Ohlone College to The Nest. Start time for the match is schedule for 3 p.m.
