Looking For Six In A Row
The Las Positas women's volleyball team, which has won five matches in a row, will complete its non conference season at home against San Jose on Wednesday, Oct. 2 (6:30 p.m.).
The young Hawks with seven freshmen on the roster polished off Gavilan 3-0, for the first time in the programs history on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The scores were 25-10, 25-17, 25-12. Freshman Ainsley Wade leads the Hawks in kills and digs this season, with freshman setter Jade Dancel handing out a team leading 203 assists.
"The team has really found a nice rhythm, consistently serving tough and strengthening our cohesion," Hawks coach Jamie Hadenfeldt said. "We're focused on taking things one match at a time, staying grounded, and improving with every opportunity."
Conference play will offer a new set of challenges, beginning at home against both Hartnell on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and De Anza on Friday, Oct. 11. Both matches start at 6:30 p.m.
"As we approach conference play, the team is excited for the challenge and motivated to step up and deliver our best performance, Hadenfeldt said. "We're committed to continuous progress, minimizing errors, and staying focused on controlling what we can."
