
Heading To State
After a strong showing this past weekend at the Coast Conference Swimming Championships, where the women's program took home the title and the men's program finished in third, the Hawk swimmers waited with anticipation to see who's would be joining divers Ainsley Wade and Sarah Dorn at the 2025 3C2A Swim and Dive State Championships which start up in two weeks in Santa Rosa.
Joining Dorn and Wade and attending the state championships for the second time in their Hawks career will be Makenzie Duffin, Jay Jani and Ethan Santiago. This will be Dorn's second appearance as well.
The list of swimmers qualifying for their first State Finals include Cameryn Clendenen, Caroline Guidi, Anastasia Hayes, Ashley May, Leo Gao, Chris Guidi, Larwence Thomas, Andre Valle, Vincent Vandersall and the previously mentioned Wade.
On the women's side leading the way with three events is Duffin who will compete in the 200, 500 and 1650 free. Dorn and Wade will be diving from both the 1 meter and 3 meter board. Caroline Guidi will be the only other Hawks participating in an induvial race as she will swim the 200 butterfly. The 800 free relay team will be made up of May, Guidi, Hayes and Clendenen.
The men will have four swimmers in individual events and 4 teams participating in the relays. Chris Guidi, the older of the Guidi siblings, will swim in the 500 free, 400IM and 200 butterfly. Jani, the squads best at the breast stroke, is schedule for the 100 and 200 breast. Thomas competes in the 50 free, 100 and 200 butterfly while Valle will be in the 400 IM and 200 back.
Swimming in the 200 free relay will be Thomas, Santiago, Jani and Gao, while Guidi Valle, Gao and Vandersall will swim the 800 free relay. Competing in the 200 and 400 medley relays are Thomas, Jani, Guidi and Santiago.
The State meet will be help on the campus of Santa Rosa Junior College and will run from May 1-3 with preliminary heats starting at 9:30am and finals starting at 4:30 pm. The women's 1 meter dive will take place at 12:30 pm on Thursday. The 3 meter is scheduled for 12:30 on Friday.
All admission tickets will be purchased online via HOMETOWN TICKETING General Admission: $15 per day. Restricted Admission $10 per day (for identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children less than 12.
PARKING FOR SPECTATORS: Visitors/spectators will be required to pay for parking at SRJC. Visitors/spectators should park in the Zumwalt Parking Pavilion located behind Bailey Football Field.
