The 2024 3C2A Men's Soccer Nor-Cal playoff brackets have been announced, and the for the 3rd straight year and 6th time with Head Coach Andy Cumbo in charge, the Hawks are in. They earned the 17th seed after finishing the year with an overall record of 11-7-4 while finishing 5-5-3 in conference play.
The playoffs start this Wednesday and for Las Positas that means a match up with #16 seeded S.J. Delta College. The Mustangs are the champions of the Big 8 Conference who finished 16-6-3 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play.
Delta is led offensively by Jesus Rios Jr who had 10 goals and Juan Gallegos who finished with 8. Their keeper, Franco Barba led the state in save with 120. The Hawks however are led by Saul Tecle who was tied for 1st in the State with 27 goals, while Lenni Hertwig and Frank Hinostroza finished second on the team with 8 goals apiece.
Wednesday's game will be played at S.J. Delta College in Stockton with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m. Tickets for general admission are $12, while students, faculty, staff, and senior citizens aged 60 and over children less than 12 years of age get in for $8.
The winner of the Wednesday game will advance into the 2nd round of the playoffs and will take on the #1 Seed, Evergreen Valley (15-2-4) on Saturday, Nov. 23 game time is currently TBA.
