STERLING EFFORT

Sterling McClanahan was more like "Can't Miss" McClanahan in the Las Positas men's basketball team's romp over Lassen, 93-74, on Nov. 16.
The sophomore was an impressive 8 for 13 from 3-point range and scored a game-high 32 points. He was 13 for 22 from the floor and tacked on five rebounds and three assists.
Las Positas, ranked sixth in the CCCMBCA Top 10 poll, improved to 4-0 early in the season after also cruising to the championship of its own Tony Costello Tip-Off Classic.
Lassen fell to 5-2.
The Hawks have an impressive all-court passing style, sharing the basketball to create good looks. Sophomore guard Elijah Mobley, MVP of the Costello Classic, continued his string of quality performances with 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Jaden Woodard, a freshman guard out of Elk Grove, added 10 points. Sophomore guard Jorren Edmonds added nine points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Las Positas will host Napa Valley at 5 p.m. Wednesday before hitting the road for the first time this season against Reedley on Friday, Nov. 22.
