Turning It Up a Notch
The Las Positas women's soccer team (1-1-3) was in good form in back-to-back draws last week. The Hawks tied Folsom Lake 1-1 on Wednesday and Lake Tahoe 2-2 on Friday, both games in Livermore.
Five players were extra sharp last week: Danielle Castro, a Granada High graduate, Kimberly Granados (San Leandro), Britney Lois Truscott (Redwood), Irie O'Donnel (Dougherty Valley), and McKenna Masinter (Dublin)
"They all turned it up a notch last week and helped us put together two solid performances," Cumbo said.
Against Folsom Lake, Granados gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute off a Kaitlyn Lemus (Foothill) assist, but Folsom Lake rallied to tie it in the 60th minute. The Hawks also led Lake Tahoe 2-0 before the guests scored twice to force the tie.
The Hawks will host Siskiyous at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13. Las Positas will travel to West Valley on Sept. 29 in its Coast-South Conference opener. Go Hawks!
