Bio

Tracey Walker enters her first season as the Assistant Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Las Positas College 2023-24.

Walker previously served as a Basketball Coach for Prolific Hoops, LLC in Mountain House, Ca. She helped develop and train elementary, junior high, and high school-aged kids.

Prior to Prolific Hoops, LLC, Walker served in the United States Navy as an air traffic controller for nine years. During her service, she was stationed at NAS Key West, while there she volunteered as a Special Olympics Coach and served as the Girl’s Basketball Coach for Horace O’Bryant School, leading them to a championship.

Walker played professionally in Keflavik, Iceland, where she notched 23 points in her debut game.

Walker played collegiately at Santa Clara University (SCU) from 2004-2008. As a freshman, she was named the team’s Most Improved Player and helped her team win the WCC Championship. In her sophomore year, she was named the team’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and also ranked in the WCC top 10 for most steals per game. Additionally, Walker notched her first-career double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in helping the Broncos clinch the WCC regular-season title at Pepperdine. As a senior, Walker was named Player of the Game against Bradley, scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Walker became the 18th Bronco to earn 1,000 career points, scoring her 1,000 point after posting 25 points against San Diego.

A native of San Jose, Walker made history as the first girl’s player in Valley Christian High School history to play professional basketball. She was the Central Coast Section's Senior of the Year, averaging 25 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and five steals. Walker also garnered the CCS's Freshman and Sophomore of the Year in 2001 and '02, with an injury her junior preventing the career sweep. She was a two-time Division 4 All-State honoree. Holds school records in total assists, steals, rebounds, three-point field goals made, and three-point field goal percentage while also holding the single-season mark for points. She recorded five triple-doubles as a senior and set a CCS single-game scoring record, notching 53 points against Fremont of Oakland. Walker reached the 30-point plateau on eight occasions while recording more than 20 points 26 times.

Walker earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from SCU (2008) and is currently pursuing her Master’s of Arts in Counseling and Guidance at San Jose State University.
