All-Conference

4 Hawks receive All conference honors

Two years ago, still trying to recover from the effects of the pandemic, the women's basketball team was unable to field a team to compete that season. This season the team won six games, doubling the win total from a year ago. Things appear to be heading in the right direction and as further evidence, the coaches of the Coast Conference rewarded four Hawks with All-Conference honors.

Sophomore Kierstin Constantino received 1st team honors for her efforts this season. She led the team in scoring averaging 26.2 point per game, which put her 2nd in the state in that category. On January 19th against Cabrillo, Constantino broke the school single game scoring record when she scored 52 points, a mark that stood for 11 years.

Two Hawks, sophomore Monique Cavness and freshman Kyshanti King were named 2nd Team All-Conference. Cavness averaged 12 point per game while averaging 19.6 rebounds, while finishing 2nd overall in the State in rebounding. Twice this season she scored a personal high of 23 points and had a season high 33 rebounds in a win against Ohlone. King was second on the team in scoring averaging 20 points a game with 7.3 rebounds. In that same game against Ohlone, she scored a career high 39 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Twice this season she finished with 16 rebounds. She finished 11th in the state in scoring and 2nd in the conference.

Freshman Joyce Mulumba did most of her work in the paint as she scored 7.3 point a game, while averaging a team high 21.3 rebounds, which put her was first overall in Rebounding in the State.  For that she was named All-Conference Honorable Mention. In the final game of the season, she had her career high in points with 14.  In 14 games this season, she recorded 20 or more rebounds and finished with a high of 34 against City College of San Francisco.
