Bio

Jason Craighead serves as a full-time faculty member, head coach for the Men's & Women’s Swimming & Diving Team/Men's Water Polo, Assistant Athletic Director, advisor for the Kinesiology Program, professor in Kinesiology, and a Red Cross Instructor.

Jason was hired at Las Positas College in August 2009.  In Spring of 2011 year he started the Swimming & Diving Program here at Las Positas College.  Since then, Jason has coached the Men's & Women's Swim & Dive teams to a total of 11 Conference Championships --Women 2013, Men AND Women 2015-2019).   In 2015 Jason started the Women's Polo and Men's Polo Programs, and served as an assistant coach for the Men's Team.  Jason moved to head coach of the Men's Water Polo team in 2019 and in their first season tied the school record for most wins in a season.  In 2021 he also coached them to their highest Conference placing (2nd). 

In 1999, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Minor in Physical Education from UC Santa Barbara, then proceeded to complete a Master’s in Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy.

Jason was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA and was a 7-time All-American swimmer (1995-1996) & All-Conference water polo player (2001) at Santa Rosa Junior College, then continued on to the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos to help contribute to 24 consecutive conference titles.  Jason was also an All-Conference Water Polo player for Las Positas College (2017).
