Making a Splash

This past Friday, the men's and women's swim and dive teams jumped into the pool for the first time this season as they hosted Mt. San Antonio and American River in a 3-team duel. With only two weeks of official training under their belt the Hawks came away with six event wins.

For the women, it was freshman Samantha Fehr who came away with the lone win in the 100 breast with a winning time of 1:16:46. The Hawks also had strong showings by fellow freshmen Makenzie Duffin who finished 2nd in the 200 free (2:19.17) and 3rd in the 500 free (6:06.06) and Amy Heath who finish 3rd in the 100 back (1:10.17).

Out on the diving boards, it was sophomore Sarah Dorn with a 2nd place finish (192.402) and freshman Annie Holm coming in 4th (154.504) in 1-M action.

For the men it was sophomores Ryan Ridosko and Zachary Zauhar-Kurr that came away with two event wins apiece.  Ridosko won in the 200 free (1:48.47) and the 500 free (4:53.40). Zauhar-Kurr had wins in the 200 IM (1:56.46) and the 100 breast (59.12). Freshman Logan Borrelli came away with a 3rd place finish in the 100 back (57.90)

 It was another sophomore, Zachary Ulrich that came away with the final two event wins in the diving competition. In the 3-M he won with a score of 146.75. It was a sweep for the top three spots in the 1-M for the Hawks as Ulrich finish with a 158.45 score. Joining him were sophomore Ilya Krasnyy 146.95 and freshman Vincent Vandersall 81.90.

The Hawks will be back in action at the NorCal Relays hosted by Santa Rosa College on Saturday February 3rd, before the Coast Conference Kickoff Meet at the College of Marin on February 23rd. Go Hawks!
