Looking Good

The Las Positas men's soccer team looked sharp in two home games last week, notching a 0-0 draw against Modesto Junior College on Wednesday and a 2-0 win over Lake Tahoe on Friday.

Head coach Andy Cumbo describes his team as in "good form," with conference play a few weeks away.

Cumbo says Adrian Denoncourt, a sophomore out of Dublin High, had an excellent week in the midfield, and Luigi Castillo (Hayward) and Connor McGinley (Dublin) were solid on the back line.

Goalkeeper Manny Betancourt (Livermore)  had a brilliant week, even saving a penalty kick to preserve the draw with Modesto.

Parker Moore (Granada) scored what proved to be the winner against Lake Tahoe unassisted in the 58th minute, and McGinley rounded out the scoring on a Denoncourt assist.

The Hawks (3-1-1) will look to keep it rolling at home this week against Siskiyous on Wednesday (4 p.m.) and Woodland Community College on Friday (6:30 p.m.). Go Hawks!
