Bio

Anthony Haskett enters his second season as the men’s basketball assistant coach for Las Positas College for the 2023-24 season. He brings newfound energy and experience to the Hawks program. In his first year assisting Coach James Giacomazzi, he helped lead the Hawks to a 19-12 record, coach three All-Conference players, and one All-State player, earn a #13 seed to eventually upset #4 Yuba, advance to the CCCAA “Sweet 16” and help get their players to play at the 4-year level.

Before being hired at Las Positas, Haskett spent the last three years at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo as a player, Haskett helped lead his team under Kaniela Aiona to a record of over .500 and to a PacWest Conference Tournament berth for the first time in the school’s history. He also earned NABC All-Academic Honors Court, 2022 Hawai’i-Hilo Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2022 Hawai’i - Hilo Athletics Runner-Up Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and was awarded the Coach Jimmy Yagi Basketball Scholarship for his high academic success. Prior to playing for the Vulcans, Haskett played for Steve Coccimiglio at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill and Las Lomas High School under Brian Dietschy in Walnut Creek. 

Coach Haskett graduated in the summer of 2023 from PennWest University with his master’s degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion with an emphasis in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention. He previously graduated with honors from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo in 2022 with two bachelor’s degrees: Exercise Science & Kinesiology and Communication.

In the offseason, Haskett coaches for the AAU program, Lakeshow, and previously worked at the Ultimate Fieldhouse in Walnut Creek as a Player Development Coach, training youth, high school, college, and professional players.
