Sophomore forward Marisa Marquez, a Granada High graduate, scored twice in the first half as the Las Positas women's soccer team bested visiting Yuba 2-0 on Friday.

The Hawks (4-1-0) led 1-0 in the 28th minute as Marquez scored off a double-assist from Lauren Soliz (Dougherty Valley) and Alyssa Fitting (San Leandro). Marquez upped the margin 10 minutes later off a double-assist from Danielle Castro (Granada) and Ava Buckles (San Ramon Valley), the goalkeeper who worked a shutout.

On Thursday, Fitting scored two goals early in the match as Las Positas (3-1-0) rolled to a 4-0 win over Siskiyous on Sept. 8. Soliz and Tiana LaFleur (Heritage) rounded out the scoring in the second half. Reina Kyriacou (California) and Irie O'Donnell (Dougherty Valley) combined to assist Fitting's second goal, in the seventh minute.

Ashley Arno (California) assisted Soliz's goal that made it 3-0 in the 55th minute. LaFleur scored unassisted in the 75th minute.
