Hawks’ season ends with 2-1 playoff loss at Folsom Lake
A successful 2021 women's soccer season for Las Positas College came to a close on Saturday with the Hawks' 2-1 loss at Folsom Lake College in an opening-round game of the Northern California Regional Playoffs.
The contest was an evenly-matched battle between No. 4-seeded Folsom Lake and No. 13 Las Positas.
The two squads were tied at halftime after a penalty-kick goal in the 20th minute by Folsom Lake's Taylor Curtis and Ashley Arno's goal (Caitlyn Garrison assist) for the Hawks in the 35th.
The game appeared destined for overtime until Luci Gulbransen knocked in the game-winner for Folsom Lake in the 84th minute.
Las Positas ended the season with an 11-5-3 overall record and went 3-4-3 in Coast Conference South Division play to finish fourth. The Hawks made their sixth straight postseason appearance, dating back to 2015.
