New year, same outcome for No. 6 Las Positas men’s basketball

FREMONT --- Dathan Satchell poured in game-high 31 points while Jordahn Johnson totaled an impressive double-double with 23 points and 25 rebounds to help lead No. 6 state-ranked Las Positas College to its 14th straight win, a 114-65 rout at Ohlone College in both teams' Coast Conference opener on Wednesday night.

There's no sign of stopping the Hawks as they improved to 14-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. They jumped out to a 58-23 advantage at halftime and were never challenged.

LPC overwhelmed Ohlone (2-12, 0-1 Coast) by shooting 47 for 75 (63 percent) from the field, including making 10 from three-point range. Satchell bombed from long distance, dropping nine 3-pointers on his way to tying his season-high.

The Hawks got contributions from the entire lineup. Domonick Victor posted 18 points and 6 rebounds, Lee Jones, Jr. had 17 points and 6 rebounds, Brandon Fisher totaled 8 points and 13 rebounds, and Nikko Echalas dished out 10 assists.

Las Positas puts its 14-game winning streak on the line when it travels to Foothill College on Friday (Jan. 7) for a 7 p.m. Coast Conference game.
