The 2021-22 Las Positas College men's basketball season got off to a great start this weekend as the Hawks wrapped up the 15^th Annual Tony Costello Tip-Off Classic with an 89-56 victory over College of the Siskiyous on Saturday.

Las Positas, ranked No. 5 in the California Community College Men's Basketball Coaches Association (CCCMBCA) Northern California preseason rankings, improved to 2-1 with today's win over No. 23 Siskiyous.

The Hawks built a 41-28 advantage at halftime and kept up the solid play in the second on their way to the victory.

Five different Hawks scored in double figures. Brandon Fisher (Elk Grove, CA / Sheldon HS) and Domonick Victor (Tracy, CA / Howard University) both scored 14 points to lead LPC. Fisher added 8 rebounds and 3 steals while Victor had 4 rebounds and a pair of steals.

Malik Jackson (Castro Valley, CA / Dublin HS) added 12 points and Jorren Edmonds (Fremont, CA / Washington HS) and Nikko Echalas (San Leandro, CA / Arroyo HS) both scored 10.

Las Positas will look to keep the momentum going on Wednesday (Nov. 10) when the Hawks host Modesto Junior College in a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
