Cañada snaps Hawks' 10-game winning streak

LPC's 10-game winning streak came to an end Friday night as the Hawks lost 80-73 to Cañada in a Coast Conference North Division game in Redwood City.

The loss was LPC's first since falling to Mendocino by 2 points Nov. 20. It dropped the Hawks' record to 13-6 overall and 3-1 in conference. They fell one game behind 4-0 City College of San Francisco in the conference standings.

LPC, which entered the game ranked #12 in the state and #6 in Northern California, now has a week off before traveling to San Francisco to take on CCSF on Jan. 22. CCSF (19-1 overall) is #2 in the state and #1 in NorCal.

Against Cañada (8-8, 1-2), LPC trailed 40-34 at halftime, but came back to tie the score at 72-72 with 2 minutes left after a Cameron Moses layup. However, Cañada scored 8 of the game's final 9 points to win by seven.

Moses finished with 12 points and 6 assists. Kameron Johnson led LPC in scoring with 20 points. He also had 6 rebounds. Keith Hunter added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists, while Aaron Berry contributed 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
